How to Make Thomas Cake Pops
Start with donut holes to make these adorable cake pops even easier!
Blue candy melts
White candy melts
Black candy melts
Mini blue chocolate-covered candies
Wax paper (to keep things from getting too messy!)
1. Use straw to poke a hole at the bottom of each donut hole. Based on package instructions, melt the blue candy melts in a small drinking glass in the microwave (melt at 50% power so melts don't burn!).
2. Dip 3/4" of straw into the blue melted candy and push into the hole. Repeat with all the donut holes and allow them to completely dry.
3. Snip ½” pieces of licorice and set aside.
4. Remelt the blue candy melt, if needed.
5. Dip a donut hole into the glass to coat. Spin it around until it doesn’t drip and place it in a tall glass or vase to harden.
6. In a small bowl, melt white candy melts in the microwave and add half of a black candy melt. Mix well to make Thomas gray.
7. Dip the donut hole or spoon on a gray face. Before it hardens, press on two candy eyes.
8. When the gray has hardened, use melted gray candy and toothpick to add a nose.
9. If needed, dab the pop very gently to smooth the nose.
10. Melt a small bowl of white candy melts. Use a toothpick to add a mouth.
11. Remelt blue, if needed. Dip licorice in the blue melt and attach to top of donut hole to make a funnel!
13. Use toothpick to add 3 melted blue dots on each side of donut hole and attach blue chocolate-covered candy “wheels."
